Minister of Communication and Digitization, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful revealed that she experimented with lesbianism known as ‘supi supi‘ back in secondary school when she took her turn on Starr FM’s ‘Star Chat Show’.
According to the minister, that she was at a stage of her life where she has to explore her sexuality although she was attracted to the opposite sex. She went on to reveal that she is happy there were no social media during the time she was doing that with other girls as it could have been a very damaging record she has to deal with all her life.
“Most of us who went through the boarding school would have had some exposure, especially in girls schools and in some mixed schools as well with ‘supism’. We did it, I don’t make any apologies about it. But I like men.”
Mrs. Ekuful who was toughing on the rising concerns of LGBTIQ+ in the country said some people never grow up from such things and now have to engage in it permanently in the name of exploring their sexuality.
”Fact, I mean I mean won’t lie about it. We’ve all done it at some stage. We’ve experimented with stuff like that but it was a passing phase. Some people never grow out of it and I don’t see it as a secondary school thing that we indulge in our exploration.”
