A member of President Akufo Addo’s legal team, Frank Davies has been cautioned by the supreme court to desist from addressing the media on matters of the proceedings.

The Chief Justice, Justice Anim Yeboah warned Mr. Davies that it is against the law for lawyers participating in a case to grant an interview on a case that is still before the court.

Justice Anim Yeboah then referred to rule 38 of the legal and professional conduct and ethical truth which states that a lawyer who is practising or has participated in litigation in court does not have the liberty to be granting interviews to the media outside the court proceedings.

“I wish to draw your attention to the rule governing media interviews by legal representatives in an ongoing case”.

“The court was not comfortable with the interviews that you [Davies] grant outside,” the Chief Justice said.

Lawyer Frank Davies who is a former Chairman of the Greater Accra Chapter of the Ghana Bar Association is always seen being the first to address the media immediately court proceedings are over.
