Election 2020: History To Be Made As Akufo-Addo And John Mahama Face Off Again

History is surely about to be made as we draw closer to the December 7, presidential and parliamentary elections in Ghana amid the virus.

With barely six (6) months to the poll, tension is gradually heightening as incumbent President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and ex-President John Dramani Mahama face off again for the presidency.

Akufo-Addo and John Mahama had faced off twice again in the last two previous Presidential elections where each won at different times.

In the 2012 elections, John Dramani Mahama beat Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to retain the presidency on the ticket for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

But, in the 2016 election, Ghanaians who had wanted a change voted massively for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo making him unseat John Mahama.

Now, it is another election year where Ghana will have to elect a new President to be in charge of the affairs of things.

Interestingly, Akufo-Addo and John Mahama are likely to face off not only for the presidency but supremacy and pride of being the people’s choice.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is yet to elect its flagbearer but from all indications, Akudo-Addo is going unopposed just like in the case of John Mahama for the NDC.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says he has eased the sufferings of Ghanaians particularly the erratic power crisis ‘Dumsor’ which hampered industrial development of companies and households.

John Mahama also says his good works will speak for him in terms of infrastructural development, the building of high schools, hospitals, and the construction of quality roads.

The valid question now, who is going the be the history maker, will it be Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo or it will be John Dramani Mahama?

But be rest assured that this year’s general elections will be based on track records and visible works and not on some empty promises as in the two previous elections.

What this means is that Ghanaians are going to vote based on performances each of the candidates in terms of social interventions, infrastructural development, job creation, roads, education, promises delivery, among other factors.

The 2020 elections will surely go down into history!
