John Dumelo To Snatch Ayawaso West Seat From Lydia Alhassan, Here’s How

Popular Ghanaian Actor, Entrepreneur, John Dumelo is likely to dethrone incumbent Lydia Alhassan for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

John Dumelo got into active politics during the John Dramani Mahama reign as the President of the Republic of Ghana using his popularity on social media to his advantage.

On August 24, 2019, John Dumelo easily won the Ayawaso West Wuogon National Democratic Congress, NDC, Parliamentary elections for the 2020 General elections.

John Dumelo is now expected to face off against Lydia Alhassan, the current MP of the constituency and widow of the late NPP MP, Emmanuel Agyarko for the seat which has always been captured by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

But some seasoned Political Analyst and Pollsters have expressed hopes that the actor turn Politician might end the long-held NPP Parliamentary seat with much evidence of his political activities in the constituency.

John Dumelo, even prior to the Coronavirus lockdown in the country has developed a cordial and healthy relationship with the constituents especially with the students at the University of Ghana, Legon.

He would seldomly storm campus to interact with these students and at one time, he was seen platting hairs for some of the female students at the University.

During the lockdown, John Dumelo has connected free internet for students at Legon and GIMPA to use for their virtual studies.

He also helped to connect the pipe-borne watch to some homes in his constituency when President Akufo-Addo announced free water for three months.

Thoughtful John Dumelo has recently launched a ¢200K initiative to support small scale businesses amid coronavirus outbreak for his constituents.

With barely six (6) months to go into the general elections in December, will John Dumlo be able to emerge as the winner?

“Decide to contest in an election and sit at home and watch Al Jazeera and see if you go get 2 votes.”
