Don’t Marry A Divorcee — Prophet Kumchacha Warns

Prophet Kumchacha

The general overseer of the Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Prophet Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Prophet Kumchacha says the Bible doesn’t support a divorcee remarrying.

The preacher cum social commentator argued that a divorcee marrying again or marrying someone who has been divorced is unacceptable according to the Bible.

Speaking on an Accra-based Peace FM, Prophet Kumchacha backed his claims with scriptures where Biblically, Paul has admonished divorcees who to remarry should go back to their former partner.

He quoted 1 Corinthians 7:10 to support his claim;

“1 Corinthians 7:10 gave clear indications from Paul that any divorcee has no right to marry again. The bible said any divorcee who wishes to marry again should go back to his or her former partner. Let me say your producer (Obiyaa) is my wife and we are divorced which I intend to marry again, the Bible forces me to go back to my former partner and not to marry any other person – If I refuse that command and stick to a new partner, I’ve committed a very big sin in the eyes of God.

“Give your life to Jesus or die miserably” – Kumchacha warns Afia Schwarzenegger

“When you divorce your partner, you have no right to marry again till the end of the world. The command was from God to Paul. Matthew 5: 31-32 gave further explanation on the issue of marrying a divorcee. The bible was clear, we don’t marry a lady who has divorced a man before, let me say, a second-hand lady – we don’t marry such people again. The only thing that supports divorce is cheating – even with that, the man or woman has no authority to marry again. It’s a sin.”

The outspoken man of God equally said he does not support abusive relationships or marriages and therefore urged people to report their abusive partners.

“I don’t support abuse in marriage. Yes, the bible speaks against divorce which I support but also I’m against various forms of abuse. Report your partner if he threatens to divorce you but don’t divorce him or her. Use the law” he said.
