NPP retains Oquaye as Speaker, Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu as Leader in Parliament

The NPP National Council of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has retained Rt. Hon. Prof. Aaron Oquaye and Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu as Speaker and majority leader of parliament respectively.

Both Rt. Hon. Prof. Aaron Oquaye and Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu will officially be inaugurated into positions of the 8th Parliament on January 7, 2021.

The majority will be deputized by the MP for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin.

Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri Frank Annor Dompreh takes the position of Chief Whip.

He’s to be deputized by MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Alhassan, and MP for Tolon, Hon. Habib.
