Nana Akomea endorses Asiedu Nketia’s Parliamentary Service Board appointment

Top Ghanaian politician and former Member of Parliament for Okaikwei South, Nana Akomea has come to the defends of Asiedu Nketia’s Parliamentary Service Board appointment.

Recall Ghface.com earlier published that Speaker Alban Babgin appointed Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia as a member of Parliament’s Service Board.

Well, it’s on this background that the Managing Director of the Intercity STC Coaches Limited has surfaced to endorse the National Democratic Congress (NDC) General Secretary’s new appointment.

According to him, the NDC scribe’s experience as a former Member of Parliament is enough qualification to get him to hold that position.

Nana Akomea said on Peace FM;

“Parliamentary Service Board is like any other board in the country. The Speaker of Parliament has the power to appoint one or two and it provides for two former members. Asiedu Nketia qualifies because he is an ex-Member of Parliament,” he said.

“Speaker has the power, so there is nothing wrong. Normally, the NDC has one former MP and the NPP also has one. So I believe the NPP will appoint a member. When Hackman was a member of the board, the NDC had another person.

“It has generated reactions because of Asiedu Nketia’s position as General Secretary of the NDC. Speaker has the right and Asiedu Nketia qualifies. I hope he will help with his experience and knowledge.”
