He again made history in 2017 when he won the overall Artiste of the Year at the VGMA’S. This was the first of its kind for the entire Ghanaian gospel fraternity. He ‘beats’ the likes of Stonebwoy and Sarkodie who were also in that category.
The multiple-award-winning musician is one of Africa’s biggest music exports and has over the years augmented his musical career and ministry sharing the same stage with several international gospel ministers.
Joe had a substantial breakthrough in 2018 with his spirit-filled ministration at the Gospel Goes Classical Live DVD Recording event in South Africa. He mounted the same platform with gospel music greats such as Donnie McClurkin, Ntokozo Mbambo, Mahalia Buchanan, Tshwane Gospel Choir, and JMP Orchestra.
The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA formerly Ghana Music Awards) was established in 2000 to celebrate Ghanaian musicians.
