I didn’t collapse; my life is in God’s hands – President Akufo Addo

President Nana Akufo-Addo has ruled out reports suggesting that he collapsed and was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital for treatment.

Addressing the issue, the president said he was at the hospital to visit his brother-in-law who had been hospitalized and not him.

Rumours spread over the weekend that President Akufo-Addo had critically taken ill and had been rushed to the military health post for treatment and was subsequently to be flown out of the country for further treatment.

But addressing a gathering as part of the National Cyber Security Awareness month organized jointly by the Ministry of Communications and the National Cyber Security Centre at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), under the theme:”A Safer Digital Ghana”, on Monday, President Akufo Addo stated that those whose political fortunes depend on his ill-health or degeneration will be disappointed as his life is in the hands of God.

“My presence and brief visit to the Military Hospital yesterday to visit my brother in law the famous pilot, Capt. Pius Spencer who’s unfortunately there for a hip operation has been translated into my collapse on the social media and preparation for my evacuation abroad. All I can say is that those whose political fortunes depend on ill health and degeneration, all I can say is that we’re all in the hands of the Almighty, Amen.”
