Energy Minister-designate, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh aka NAPO has confessed to falsely accusing former president John Mahama of busing people to Independence Square in 2017.
The former Education Minister made the confession following his appearance before the appointment committee on Friday, February 12, 2021.
NAPO explained that his verbal accusation against Mahama was based on the wrongful information he relied upon.
The Member of Parliament for Manhyia said;
“We opened the center at the independence square to address the needs of Ghanaians who want to go to school, but some evil people have decided to pay GHc 20 and GHc 50 to people to go there and stage fainting and collapse, yesterday some of the collapses were fake. I’m even wondering why they brought little kids to the center.”
Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh was confronted with series of questions from hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu, and hon. Suhuyini to substantiate his claims with evidence has no option than to apologize to the former president.
