The Ghana Journalist Association(GJA) has condemned violence and attack on journalists at various collation centers.
A shooting incident took place at the Ablekuma central collation center and two journalists were injured as a result of attack on them by some political party agents.
GJA president, Affail Monney at a press conference said the incident was an insult to the state’s democracy and urged security persons and the government to bring the ones who committed those heinous acts to justice.
Affail Monney said a reporter by the name Mr. Pius Kwanin Aseidu suffered gunshot wounds in the leg and is on the verge of opting for a surgery since he had been injured badly.
He also made claims that another journalist from Ghana Broadcasting Corporation by name Doreen Ampofo also suffered injury after she was attacked by party agents who mistook her for an electoral commission official.
It is surprising and shocking to reveal that those unfortunate attacks happened at the Ablekuma central collation center.
