A group of SM fans based in Ghana have reacted negatively to Yaa Pono’s big win at the 2018 Ghana Music Awards (GMA) UK, Ghface.com has learnt.
These SM fans have alleged that Yaa Pono never won the awards on merited grounds as it should be but rather bought them in order to end his ‘no award’ tag.
According to the die-hard fans and followers of Shatta Wale, there is no way the ‘Obia Wone Master’ hit-maker can even win an award and to talk of two or more awards when the likes of Sarkodie, M.anifest, EL, FlowKing Stone and others are still around.
They told Ghface.com;
“Forget! Yaa Pono can’t win award on merit, oh he bought those awards. Which song of his qualifies to grab awards in Ghana? How can Yaa Pono win awards when Sarkodie, M.anifest, EL, FlowKing Stone and others are still doing active music? Well SM fans doubt his win though but let him keep them as the no-award tag has been removed”.
The Ghana Music Awards UK came off on Saturday October 6, 2018 at the Gaumont Palace (Dominion Center) in the UK where Yaa Pono grabbed the rapper of the year and two other awards.
