University Of Cape Coast (UCC) Gives Amansan Krakye Scholarship

Frank Mensah popularly called Amansan Krakye, a well-known broadcast journalist on GBC Radio Central in Cape Coast has received the Samuel and Emelia Brew-Butler, SGS/GRASAG, UCC research grant 2018 for his research work.

During the award

ceremony and presentation of grants to successful applicants, Professor Kankam, Vice Dean of the School of Graduate Studies said in all 40 graduate students out of 71applicants met all the laid down criteria for the scholarship.

He said the awards scheme will disburse a total of GH¢160,000 to the awardees and each will be entitled to GH¢4,000 to assist in doing quality research work and also finish on time.

Professor Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoah, Pro-VC of the University of Cape Coast in her speech lauded the scholarship scheme for such initiative and also encouraged graduate students to look for other alternative sources of funding their research work.

She advised the awardees to put the money to good use and produce timeless research work that will help to solve some of the major issues in society.

Frank Mensah who is pursuing a postgraduate degree in Master of Philosophy, Non- Governmental Organization (NGO) Studies & Community Development also double as the Organizer for Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG) – UCC Chapter.

The event which was held at Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang Auditorium inside Amissah Arthur Language Centre, UCC brought together Deans, Provosts, Heads of Departments, Graduate Students and the media fraternity.
