Ghanaian rapper Awal Mohammed, musically known as Awal has strongly kicked against the winner-takes-all policy in MTN Hitmaker talent show.
Ghface.com earlier published an article where Awal disclosed that he didn’t get any prize for placing second at the just ended MTN Hitmaker season 7 music show.

On the back of this, Awal in a recent interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz advised the organizers to review the winner-takes-all strategy as it isn’t the best option.
According to the ‘Jawule’ hit-maker, the organizers must make prize provisions towards all the finalists in the competition.
He believes such a move will help contestants placing second and third places to have a good start of their music careers.
”I didn’t get any prize for placing second at MTN Hitmaker. I think the strategy of winner-takes-all isn’t good. As a finalist, we also deserved a prize, to kick start our careers.“
