President Nana Akufo-Addo has declared Election Day, 7th December as a public holiday by an Executive Instrument.
The declaration of December 7 arrived following the submission of a proposal to the President by EC Chairperson, Mrs. Jean Mensa.
According to the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, the proposal has the blessing of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC).
By this directive, 4th December which was supposed to be observed as a statutory public holiday will no longer be observed.
