Kofi AC Calls For Government Support For Emerging Artists During Ace Heritage Month

As Ghana celebrates Ace Heritage Month this March, marking Independence Day on March 6th, artist Kofi AC is calling on the government to create structured opportunities for up-and-coming talents. He believes emerging artists deserve a platform to showcase their craft, connect with fans, and contribute to Ghana’s culture, tourism, and economy.

A Call for Inclusion in National Celebrations

Kofi AC, formerly known as Allan Cash, emphasizes that national celebrations should not only highlight established names but also provide a stage for fresh voices. He believes young artists are the heartbeat of Ghana’s cultural future, and including them in Ace Heritage Month will boost their careers while strengthening Ghana’s creative industry.

“We need to create deliberate opportunities for young artists,” says Kofi AC. “Giving them a platform during Heritage Month will not only help their growth but also enrich Ghana’s music industry and economy.”

Who is Kofi AC?

Born into the Gyaase Royal Family of Aduana, Dormaa, Kofi AC is a talented Highlife and Hiplife artiste. An orphan with one sister and two children, he discovered his passion for music at St. John’s International JSS, continued through Dormaa Secondary School, and later attended the Ghana School of Social Work.

He recorded several demos before securing his first professional record deal with the then Stunnin Music Group, leading to a major 2014 collaboration with legendary Sherifa Gunu—produced by Falcon Music and mixed by Eyoh Soundboy. Over the years, he has worked with Barima Sydney, Benji, and most recently, Kwame Amingo.

After his deal with Stunnin Music Group ended in 2019, Kofi AC took a brief hiatus and returned with a new identity under Stunnin Event and Promotions (StEPs). In October 2024, he released his debut EP, “Chinese Bamboo”, featuring hits like:
• Kofi oo Kofi
• Yɛɛba ft. KRC
• Yɛ Mpaapi ft. Kooko
• Obi pɛ ft. Kojo Lap
• My Life
• Efie Mensah ft. Trendhin
• W’apagya Me ft. Budhisatva

A masterful lyricist, Kofi AC blends rap and melody effortlessly. His song “Kofi oo Kofi” has the potential to earn recognition from Charterhouse and the TGMA board.

The Future of Ghanaian Art & Culture

As Ace Heritage Month continues, Kofi AC urges stakeholders, industry leaders, and the government to invest in the next generation of artists. By doing so, Ghana can strengthen its cultural identity, boost tourism revenue, and position itself as a global hub for creative excellence.

Now is the time to support, promote, and celebrate our rising stars—not just for their sake, but for the growth of Ghana’s creative industry as a whole.
