Good Rap Songs Don’t Pay – D-Black Reveals

Ghanaian rapper Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, better known as D-Black in the world of music has disclosed that good rap songs do not pay in Ghana.

Speaking to Abeiku Santana on the ‘Atuu’ show, D-Black opened up on why he stopped writing good rap lyrics.

According to him, he used to write good lyrical raps but he later realized such songs are not paying so decided to stopped though he’s still in the rap game.

He explained that he couldn’t make enough money from his career but immediately he released his hit song “Vera” which has little rap verses, everything changed with his life.

“When I was rapping, I was broke. When I was doing my rap stuff I was getting the accolades, BET but I didn’t get money”. D-Black said.
