The second edition of Ghana Outstanding Women Awards 2019 was successfully launched on 23 July 2019 at the British Council in Accra.
The scheme is designed to award women who are impacting positively in human life, the society and country.
The launching began at 4:00pm and saw a lot of people including great media houses and personalities. The chairperson for the launch was Lady Pastor Mrs Grace Terra.
Other women who were in attendance are Anita Akua Akuffo who was the MC for the launch, Welhemina Ferguson Dziniku, Mrs Salley Akua Amoakowaa (General Manager of Angel TV), Mrs Afua Asantewaa Aduonum (General Manager of Kenpong Travel and the CEO Of Ghana Outstanding Women Awards), Mrs Maame Afua Houadjeto, Emefa Adeti ( Ghana Most Beautiful 2012), Hajia Hafsatu Yusif (Founder of Mothers Of Earth), Rev.Dr.Fransisca D Williams (Founder of DOXA Citadel), Mabel Acheampoma among others.
There was solidarity messages from Mrs. Salley Akua Amoakowaa, Mrs. Grace Terra, Rev. Dr. Francisca D. Williams and Emefa Adeti. Brief speech was given by the CEO Mrs. Afua Asantewaa Aduonum. Official launch of GOWA was done by Mrs. Maame Afua Houadjeto and speech on upgrade by Hajia Hafsatu Yusif.
There were musical performances by Mish J and Araya. Introduction of categories and announcement of nominations by Chris Asante and the launch came to an end with a closing prayer by Kojo Amo.The official launch came to an end at 6:00pm with refreshment.
