Dr Ray Cautions Artistes Who Want Free Beats And Reveals Charges

Ghanaian music producer Nana Yaw Nkrumah known professionally as Dr. Ray Beatz has disagreed with those who think music production is not paying and added that he won’t play free beat for any up-and-coming or mainstream artiste.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Edem of Remedi Entertainment, Dr Ray emphatically stated that music production goes a long way and has brought a lot of opportunities to him alongside many awards.

“Music production pays a lot and anyone who says otherwise does not have a clue as to what music production is all about”, he disclosed.

Dr. Ray also revealed that he doesn’t charge less than 1500 cedis for a song.

“I charge not less than 1,500 to 2000 to produce a song for an artist but when it comes to up-and-coming artiste I have a special package that will go in favour of both parties (producer and artiste) because I deeply understand how difficult it is to raise money”, he added.

Dr. Ray added that he will never do free songs for either up-and-coming or mainstream artiste.

Currently Dr. Ray is working on a label called Talent House Records.
