Ghanaian Footballer, Bright Addae a.k.a Powerful-19 has said that he has heard that some Ghanaians are not taking the COVID-19 seriously because they don’t see dead bodies on TV.
Advising such people not to be doubting Thomas’s, he educated people not to expect what it’s being done in Europe with regards to the Coronavirus to be replicated in Ghana.
Speaking from his base in Italy with Amansan Krakye on Radio Central, Bright Addae who is a defender for Serie B side Juve Ascabia said
” What I can tell Ghanaians is that Coronavirus is real and it is killing a lot of people all over the world.
“But what I have heard in Ghana is that some people want to see that in this particular hospital, these are the people who are dying out of being infected. Or see those who are in critical condition due to the Coronavirus infection.
“What they have to understand is that Europe is different from Africa. In Africa or Ghana when you show the face of someone infected with Coronavirus, even if the person recovers from the disease, nobody will want to associate with such a person.
“Everyone must endeavor to wash their hands frequently, use a hand sanitizer, and avoid crowded places or events.
“Let us all be careful and save our lives because when the disease spreads rapidly in Ghana, the consequences might be outrageously damning which might get out of control”, he advised
The number of deaths resulting from infected patients of the novel Coronavirus across the globe continues to increase on a daily basis.
However, some people still blatantly disregard the precautionary measures given by the WHO and have thrown caution to the wind claiming that the disease is just a hoax.
