We will still continue our protest while in court – John Mahama

Leader of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), John Mahama has revealed to Ghanaians and supporters that protests against the Akufo Addo government is not going to stop even when the issue is taking to court.

The issue about protests and Court is as a result of the results declared by the Electoral Commission(EC) pronouncing Nana Akufo Addo as winner of the 2020 elections making him the president elect.

The National Democratic Congress(NDC) has however rejected the declaration of the Electoral Commission which has lead to several controversies and protests.

John Mahama and his party supporters started a protest against the EC and has now dragged the issue to court.

He has however refused to drop the protest now that the case is in court and has informed all party supporters to carry on with the protest until case is closed.

“The NEC decided that the NDC will contest the results of the rigged elections in the Supreme Court and other appropriate fora. In addition, the party will continue all legitimate actions, including protestations, to press home its demands for the government of President Akufo-Addo to enforce the rule of law and protect life and property in Ghana and, in particular, to take all necessary measures to bring to swift justice those responsible for the murders and injuries and destruction of properties before, during, and in the aftermath of the general elections”, Stated the National Executive Committee of the NDC.
