I will maintain a sizeable government if I become The President of Ghana – Dr Konadu Apraku

Presidential aspirant hopeful on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party has shared his view on the size of the current government.

The size of President Nana Akufo-Addo’s government has been a topic of debate since 2017 when the appointments were announced.

The current administration now has over 110 ministers, at least 20 ministers more than its predecessors appointed.

According to Dr Apraku , the huge number of government appointees will reduce dramatically when he is voted into power as the president of Ghana.

The former ECOWAS Commissioner for Macroeconomic Policy, mentioned he will maintain a sizeable government in other to save the country’s resources.

In a nutshell, Presidential candidate hopeful indicated his readiness to develop Ghana with a considerable government size if he becomes the president.

Alternatively, Dr. Apraku hinted he will reduce the number of positions across the government. Positions with duplicate functions or chronic vacancies would be eliminated.

” The success of a government does not entirely depend on the huge number of government appointees” he said.

Kofi Konadu Apraku is a Ghanaian politician and economist and a member of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana. He is a member of the New Patriotic Party. He was the Member of Parliament for the Offinso North constituency.
