The Presidential hopeful on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Konadu Apraku has sent birthday wishes to former president, John Agyekum Kufuor, who turned 84 years today.
The former Member of Parliament and Minister of Trade, Dr. Konadu Apraku posted a message on Facebook “Happy Happy birthday to your Excellency John Agyekum Kuffour. May you age gracefully in good health and joy”.
The former Member of Parliament and Minister of Trade, Dr. Konadu Apraku has relaunched his campaign to contest as a presidential candidate hopeful for the ruling New Patriotic Party.
Social media has been awash with birthday greetings to Kufuor, who a number of people labeled as the best president in Ghana’s history, the modest praisers choosing to restrict him to the best under the Fourth Republic.
The statesman took over the reins of power after the exit of his predecessor, the late former president, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, serving as the president of the Republic of Ghana from January 7, 2001, to January 7, 2009, under the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Nicknamed the ‘Gentle Giant’, John Agyekum Kufuor is credited with such initiatives as the National Health Insurance Scheme.
